Introduction of Remote Area Service

We at DHL Express are committed to providing our customers with the best delivery network, which is why we are continuing to offer coverage to more parts of the world than any other company. However, due to the high degree of inaccessibility of some locations, additional costs are incurred.

Effective 01 October 2003, DHL Express is therefore introducing a Remote Area Service. The charge will be USD 0.30 per kg, with a minimum of USD 17.50 per shipment sent from Indonesia to remote locations and/or shipments imported into Indonesia from remote areas. Shipments to or from remote areas within Indonesia will be charged USD 0.15 per kg, with a minimum of USD 7.50 per shipment.

Rest assured that our charges remain fair and reasonable - they are lower than those of our major competitors. With DHL´s vast network and infrastructure, it is also good to know that less than 2% of our shipments are currently delivered to remote locations.
